Strength at Marie's house

Strength for all juvenile and older skiers, including first year juveniles.

We will be meeting at Marie Peterson’s house from 6 to 7:30pm. Her address is 4211 Lakeshore rd NE.  It is the last driveway on the left before Ravenscroft as you head north on Lakeshore.  You can drop off skiers in the top driveway by the house or take the lower driveway and come down to the backyard.

Please bring lots of water, sunscreen and a hat.

First practice of the fall season - Peewees, Bantams and Midgets. Prospective new skiers can look under the Join Us tab for information and should contact Jana Elliott prior to attending any practices.

Pee Wees: Please wear running attire and bring a small water bottle

No Juvenile practice - any juveniles not doing high school xc running can join the Devo group on Wednesdays starting at 4pm.

Paddle and Run - Canoe Beach

Meet at Canoe Beach near the boat ramp - if you want to paddle you need to have filled out and signed registration form and waiver for SARP. Bring this with you (along with the registration fee). You also need to have a PFD (life jacket). For those of you who are in the Race Group, please bring running shoes, ski striding poles and water bottle as well. We will be running/ski striding for part of the practice.

Strength at the Gym of Rock

Strength for all Juvenile and older athletes (including first year juveniles) at the Gym of Rock in the old Canadian Tire Building.

Please meet at 3:50pm at the climbing gym.

Please bring the waiver you received in the email and have your parents sign it. (Even if you already have one on file at the gym)

Please bring money for climbing. $8 for climbing, $3 for shoe rental, $3 for a harness rental. No charge for those that have a membership.

Skiing - Larch Hills

Pee Wees - Skate Skiing - this will be the last practice for the Pee Wees. We will be doing some fun activities with the Bantams and then having some food together afterwards. Please bring $2 to help pay for the food. 4-6pm

Skiing - Larch Hills

Pee Wees: Peewees will start practice at 9:30 am today and will then join in Fun Day with the Jackrabbits. Classic Skiing

Bantams: Bantams will be starting at 9:30 and will be doing a skiathlon (skate and classic event). Please bring both sets of equipment. We will aim to be finished at 11:45

Midgets: Skate Skiing from 8:45am to 10:00am. The midget skiers will then be helping out with the Jackrabbit fun day from 10:30am to noon.

Juveniles+: Classic skiing 10 am to noon

Skiing - Larch Hills

Pee Wees: No practice as all coaches and many athletes will be at Midget Champs.

Bantams: No Bantam practice. All Bantams will be at Midget Champs.

Midgets: First year midgets will be headed to Midget Champs at Sovereign. Second year midgets will be joining the Juveniles + for the skate skiing Enduro event. See details below.

Juveniles+: Skate skiing. We will be doing an Enduro event (there will be 3 downhill segments that you will be timed on. The uphill segments of the course will not be timed). Use older skis/poles. Meet in the chalet at 10am to sign in and get your timing stick. You must ski all 3 segments to get a result. You may ski any of the segments multiple times if you want to (your reward for the effort of skiing back up to the top!) and only your best time on each segment will count toward your final time. Cookies for all finishers and prizes for fastest Midget, Juvenile, Junior and Devo boy and girl. Remember that this is for fun so ski within your ability and do not hurt yourself. I can attest to the fact that the snow is soft to land in!

Devo: We will be joining the midgets and juveniles doing the Enduro (see juvenile comments above). If some prefer to join a Jackrabbit group for the session let Phil know at practice this week. I would recommend skating for the enduro. If you do classic I will have wax if you wear it off on the downhills. Use older skis and poles if you have them.
