Striding poles are optional the first 1 km has lots of climbing then rolling terrain. The BC Development Team camp did not use poles but of course you are welcome to use them. We will start using striding poles more later this month and a lot on October / November.
3:00pm depart camp site (U 14 and up athletes) drive up Hwy 23 park just after Downey Creek Bridge. Skate Roller ski 1.5 hours
3:30 - 5:00pm roller ski skate along Highway 23 Notes from Zach Revelstoke Head Coach: "The new pavement up there starts at Downey Creek (maybe 30 min north of Martha). We skied out there last week with Foothills and BC Dev Squad and it was great. If you park just after the bridge over Downey you can ski about 20-25k out and then come without having a downhill that is a problem – beyond that theres a long downhill into a bridge with an expansion joint. I think we did an hour out and turned around and it was great. On the weekend traffic should be light to non-existent with no logging activity allowed."
Saturday evening swim, relax, have fun.
